All of your training has come down to this. Your taper was executed perfectly and now you just have to get plenty of rest the next couple of days.
This is all theoretical of course – my week will look a bit different with 4 kiddos in the house (2 of which love to say hi to their parents at random intervals throughout the night π), school starting back up for most, work as usual for me, approximately 14 soccer games/practices, and still trying to give everyone in the family the attention they deserve. Needless to say sleep has been a challenge, but overall, I’m actually feeling pretty good!
I’m certainly ready for race day to be here and get this show on the road π This is my first time doing the Superior Marathon and looking forward to the running along SHT up north again. My goal is to take in the experience/views, push my body a bit, and HAVE SOME FUN!!
Race director John Storkamp always puts on wonderful events and really knows how to build community within them. Heβs also a super nice person who truly cares about every racer, pacer, spectator, and volunteer!
To everyone toeing the line in the marathon, 50 mile, or 100 mile races – good luck and enjoy the race! To those singed up but not able to run, know that you’ll be on my mind as I head towards Lutsen on Saturday and hopefully you will be heading towards a finish line in the near future!
